The Biblins Campsite provides a back-to-basics camping experience, nestled in the Wye Valley, the 18 acre site hugs the river and is surrounded by ancient woodlands. Whether you plan a social group camp or educational school visit, Biblins offers one of the finest locations in the country.

Biblins is primarily a youth campsite. We have 13 camping pitches, with capacities ranging from 15 to 60 campers,  though adjacent pitches may be booked for very large groups. We also welcome smaller youth and community groups such as Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expeditions arriving by foot or Canoe.

Camp Koodoo is a ready made camp for groups of up to 36 campers, equipped with bell tents, marquee and a kitchen area.

The Burrow is a unique construction built into the hillside. It provides indoor accommodation for 19, which can also be outdoors as the roof slides back!

There are a whole host of activities available for groups at the Biblins site from walking and cycling to canoeing, orienteering, climbing and bushcraft.

The 42-acre site near the picturesque village of Lurgashall in West Sussex offers tremendous scope for both small and large group camps. (Max. 100 on site at any time). It is situated in the South Downs National Park surrounded by miles of beautiful countryside to enjoy.  The site is managed separately, by organisation Wimbledon District Woodcraft Folk.

The site has been sensitively developed for traditional camping which allows Woodcraft Folk groups and districts to camp easily and at low cost. They have everything you need for a successful camp including a fully equipped kitchen for about 50 and tables and chairs for all woodcraft groups to use. If you need them we also have Force 10 tents and sleeping bags for hire and of course, wood for campfires . There are now toilets and showers available for all and many activity opportunities on the site like bush craft, woodland work and various games. In the summer we also have the possibility of swimming, bike-riding, and many craft and musical activities, helped by our film screen on hand in the large barn.

As the site is managed and staffed entirely by volunteers, they always welcome offers of help and assistance. These volunteers strive to keep the site a treasure for all those that visit it.

How to make a booking

The site has a Bookings Manager, Linda Osborn, who has over 30 years experience of the site and deals with all initial enquiries. You can contact her at linda.osborn45@gmail.com to check availability. Linda is the first person to speak to if you want t find out about site availability and any other queries.

How to find us

The nearest train station is Haslemere, which is about 5 miles away and it may be possible to use a minibus to collect groups (Please arrange with Linda first).

When you arrive in the Lurgashall village, you need to take the track between the Church and the Noah’s Ark Pub and follow the path for about 1/4 mile. You keep to the left and you will soon reach the Barn and Wardens Office for registration.
